Terms of Use
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using the GSS Environmental monitoring dashboard ("the Service") you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Pilot status
The Service is a research and field pilot provided for informational and research purposes only. Features, data availability, and uptime may change at any time without notice. There are no guarantees of service continuity.
3. Permitted use
- View and analyse environmental data collected for the Kampala pilot
- Query the AI advisor for interpretive analysis of sensor readings
- Integrate compatible ESP32 or IoT sensor hardware via the documented API
4. Prohibited use
- Use environmental data or AI analysis for emergency response, medical diagnosis, legal proceedings, or regulatory compliance decisions
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape at excessive rate, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Store or transmit data unrelated to environmental monitoring
- Share your account credentials with others
5. Data accuracy disclaimer
Environmental readings are indicative only. Sensor data from BME680, MQ-series, and similar low-cost sensors is not certified for regulatory, medical, or legal use. BME680 gas resistance is a VOC air-quality indication, not a certified pollutant concentration. MQ-series gas sensors require field calibration. AI analysis is generated by a language model and may contain errors.
Always verify critical readings with calibrated, certified instruments and consult qualified professionals before taking action.
6. AI advisor limitations
The AI Environmental Advisor outputs are for informational and research purposes only. They do not constitute professional environmental, health, or safety advice, may contain inaccuracies, and must not be relied upon for emergency, medical, or legal decisions.
7. Account and access
Access requires a Google account. You are responsible for all activity under your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms or misuse of the Service.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, its code, design, and documentation are the property of GSS Environmental or its contributors. Environmental data from third-party sources (Tomorrow.io, OpenAQ, Open-Meteo, WeatherAPI) is subject to those providers' own terms.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GSS Environmental shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service or reliance on its data or AI-generated analysis. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.
10. Changes
We may update these terms as the pilot evolves. Continued use constitutes acceptance. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda. Any disputes shall be resolved through the courts of Uganda, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rights in your local jurisdiction.
